The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation has as a part of the $140M redevelopment plan for Admiral’s Row, agreed that Wegmans, an upstate 85 store family owned supermarket chain and industry leader, will open a 74,000 square foot store. Steiner NYC the developer in this project will as a part of this project redevelop a light manufacturing space 126,000 square feet in size as well as a community facility 7,000 square feet in size.
Hank Gutman, Board chair of the BNYDC said that “Wegmans and the entire Admiral’s Row redevelopment will further the revitalization of the communities around the Brooklyn Navy Yard”. Wegmans CEO Danny Wegman said “It is a thrill to bring Wegmans to Brooklyn, along with a few hundred jobs”.
Fortune magazine has voted Wegmans to be one of the 100 best companies to work for.
