A eye catching new 12 story mixed-use building is planned for 1490 McDonald Avenue in the Mapleton (bordered by Midwood and Borough Park) section of Brooklyn, New York.

The 29,500 square foot trapezoid shaped property is bordered by Washington Cemetery to the north, Avenue M to the south, McDonald Avenue to the east and low rise warehouses and commercial buildings to the west.
The unusual design of the building has an angular tiered massing with an exterior reflective glass curtain wall. The design also consists of alternating geometry of the tiers with terraces of a variety of dimensions, all with landscaping and seating. To further add to the uniqueness of the design, the public plaza at the base of the building sits below grade under a soaring overhang with tall cylindrical columns supporting the overhang.
A lawn on the northwestern corner of the building provides a buffer between the building and the Washington Cemetery.
The nearest subway is the F train at the elevated Avenue N station to the south over McDonald Avenue.
