The Dime Savings Bank building, on the Fulton Mall, just down from Juniors located at 9 Dekalb Avenue is for sale. This property is clearly one of the crown jewels of Downtown Brooklyn Real Estate.

Building owner and current occupant J.P. Morgan Chase hired Cushman & Wakefield as the exclusive real estate broker on the property. One Cushman & Wakefield associate James Berluti said that "this is a rare opportunity for an investor to acquire one of the most architecturally significant properties in Brooklyn and all of New York City.

The 5 story building is approximately 68,904 square feet large and has air rights of more than 313,476 as of right. Total square footage that could be built is in the range of 446,110.

The architecture firm Mowbray Uffinger designed the building which took two years to build between 1906 and 1908. The building was then enlarged according to a design by another architecture firm Halsey, Mc Cormack & Helmer.

Some of the incredible period details of the building include: winged creatures holding a frog, ornate gated doorways, benches with winged creatures with sea horse tails and marble benches with pithy sayings carved into them, a magnificent ceiling dome and rows of iconic columns.

The bank is scheduled to close in August.
