Work on the Bushwick Inlet Park in Williamsburg Brooklyn, NY is designed by Abel Bainnson Butz LLP and developed by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is progressing. It is located along the Williamsburg Waterfront.

The 2 acre parcel called Motiva, is located in the northernmost end of the waterfront park and will receive a $9.8M transformation. Construction on the property, formerly sitting overgrown and unused, began in March 2024. In addition, environmental remediation work has begun in parallel with the construction work.

Bushwick Inlet Park is part of the approximately 40 – Acre Greenpoint – Williamsburg Open Space Master Plan, bound by Quay Street to the North and Franklin Street to the East.

The landscape design of the park will include lush, a small sandy beachfront with a kayak launch, benches and large boulders for seating, bicycle lanes and an Osprey stand. The pathway running through the park will be built to the northern and southern ends of the parcel in preparation for the continuation with further expansion of the green space.

The site has been cleared for the most part, with only a few sections along the water's edge not done. The northern end is furthest along with a new shoreline of large rocks forming a breakwater, dirt infill, low rise concrete retaining walls and a pathway for pedestrians. The start of landscaping will be the next milestone in construction. Two sections of the park area are currently open at 50 and 80 Kent Avenue, north of Marsha P Johnson Park. There is a completed greenspace of 50 Kent Avenue – Bushwick Inlet Park, located to the south along Kent Avenue between North 11th Street and North 12th Streets.

Between 50 Kent Avenue and the Motiva parcel is a large fenced off plot, formerly occupied by Bayside Fuel Oil tanks and the company's industrial warehouse buildings, and is now vacant and overgrown. The timeline for construction on this section of the park has not been announced yet.

Other organizations that will help maintain the future park space includes the Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park, a volunteer and advocacy group and the North Parks Alliance, district wide nonprofit parks conservancy group.
