New Brooklyn Projects Update

Stuyvesant Heights will see a new 5 story residential building located at 376 Vernon Avenue, between Stuyvesant Avenue and Lewis Avenue.

A condominium building is planned to be 55 feet high, 16,977 square feet in size, with 13 residences and an average apartment size of 1,300 square feet. The building will have a cellar, a rear yard and seven open parking spaces.

Hamish Whitefield Architects is the architect of record and YS developers have filed the plans for this project.

Site clearing has finished in Greenpoint, at 15 West Street/ 30 Porte Plaza, between West and Quay Street,  where there are plans for a 29 story residential building, part of Cooper, Robertson Partner's Calyer Place master plan in Greenpoint. The building is designed by SLCE Architects and the developer is Halcyon Management Group.

Originally, the plan was for an 18 story building with 179,785 square feet, 181 residences, commercial and community space and 142 enclosed parking spaces. The scope of the project has been expanded with no further details available yet. The $500M Calyer place Master Plan include 1,000 mixed income apartments, commercial space, community facilities, parking and a revamped waterfront esplanade along the East River. The G train, Greenpoint and Nassau Avenue subway station, along Manhattan Avenue to the East, is closest to the project.

In Fort Greene, located at 240 Willoughby Street, a 30 story residential building is moving forward. The building designer is Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architects and the developer is the Rabsky Group, which bought the property in 2019 for $95M. Plans are for 300 rental units with 147 dedicated to affordable housing. 240 Willoughby LLC also owns the property next door, an existing 21 story apartment building undergoing extensive renovations.

The development boundaries are Willoughby Street to the North, The Brooklyn Hospital Center to the South, Fort Greene Park to the East and Ashland Place to the West.

Completion is planned for Winter of 2024.
