A unique and wonderful lifestyle of being an Oceanside neighborhood, rich and diverse culturally is what Brighton Beach, Brooklyn NY has to offer.
My maternal grandparents, my family and I spent some wonderful years, when I was a young child, living in Brighton Beach.
Located in South Brooklyn, Brighton Beach has world famous Coney Island to the West, Manhattan Beach to the East, Sheepshead bay at the Belt Parkway to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South along the beach and Boardwalk.
Brighton Beach is a summer destination for New York City residents due to its beautiful beach and famous boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean and its proximity to the amusement park in Coney Island. It has abundance of restaurants, stores, and nightclubs mostly with the Russian and other former Soviet Union’s countries influenced cuisines.
There is B and Q train service along Brighton Beach Avenue into Manhattan.
There are several good schools in Brighton Beach. They are:
P.S. 253 Jack Ezra Keats/ The Magnet School of Multi Cultural Humanities, located at 601 Ocean View Avenue. Grades served are 1-5, PK, Ok, SE.
P.S. 225 The Eileen E. Zaglin School located at 1075 Ocean View Avenue. Grades served are 1-8, OK, PK, SE.
William E. Grady Career and Technical High School located at 25 Brighton 4th Road. Courses of study offered are Computer Repair, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Electrical Installation, Media & Dramatic Arts, Plumbing and Heating.
Brighton Beach and surrounding neighborhoods were devastated by Superstorm Sandy, but this Brooklyn neighborhood and several others have rebuilt, renovated and have come roaring back, better than ever.
The real estate market in Brighton Beach is strong with reasonably priced residential housing available and increasing demand.

Brighton Beach and vicinity have some good restaurants. One of my favorites is:
Liman located on the canal in Sheepshead Bay at 2701 Emmons Avenue. They serve the best grilled whole fish in town! The menu is wonderful and the rear of the restaurant is overlooking the water and has recently been beautifully renovated.
Other local favorites are:
Varenichnaya located at 3086 Brighton 2nd Street serves Modern European and Russian cuisine.
Hot Potato House located at 109 Oriental Boulevard serving New American, Seafood and Russian cuisine.
Ocean View Café located at 290 Brighton Beach Avenue serving homestyle Russian classics like beef stroganoff, blintzes and borsht.
Vis a Vis Restaurant located at 3100 Ocean Parkway serving French and Russian cuisine in an opulently decorated room.
