As a real estate broker and lifelong resident of Brooklyn, I occasionally like to write a blog about Brooklyn neighborhoods, food and Brooklyn Commercial Real Estate news.
Brooklynites, whether newcomers or lifelong residents can all agree that when it comes to food, there is no better place for great quality and more diversity of cuisines in so many restaurants as we have in Brooklyn, NY.
From 8th Avenue in Sunset Park, where you can find authentic Cantonese cuisine, Vietnamese, Thailand or just plain wonderful regular Chinese food to Court Street in Carroll Gardens, where you can find terrific Italian restaurants and bakeries, to 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge where you can find incredible Middle Eastern, Turkish and Greek Restaurants and the list goes on.
A restaurant space located at 259 Fifth Avenue at the corner of Garfield Place, close to the Barclay Center, has become available. Perspective tenants range from Michelin starred chefs to gourmet sandwich restaurants, high end coffee concepts etc… The asking rent is $128 per square foot or $15,000 per month for the 1,400 square foot ground floor space and a 1,400 square foot lower level for a kitchen and storage. Retail rents near the Barclay Center reach as high as $200 per square foot.
Several new restaurants that are neighbors to The Barclay Center are Shake Shack, which just opened last Sunday March 15th, Luke’s Lobster, Le Pain Quotidien, Calexico and Naruto Ramen.
